France and the Palestinian Question from 1991-2004: A Study of Relations and Positions
Abstract
The peace process in the Middle East resulted in the international and regional changes that occurred in the Arabian region. France supported the Madrid Conference in 1991 , the subsequent secret negotiations in Oslo and its signing in 1993 and the French attitude of it. In addition to that France has taken a direction in the European Union that works for the development of Arab-European relations, the result of which was the Barcelona conference pact in 1995 and its clear attitude concerning the events inside the Palestinian territories in 2000, the stumbling of peace process, the events of September 11, 2001, the siege of President Yasser Arafat, and the American-Israeli demand to delegitimize him and then his death in 2004.
