Abstract

Reliance on a legitimate legal means to take hold of power and making the process of competition for political positions and posts through elections, besides choosing the appropriate method for society is considered the first step to reach at political stability, and the participation of the voter in the electoral process expresses his active citizenship in building the state and ensuring its stability. So, our objective in this research is to know the role of the electoral process and its consequences on political stability. After relying on all the literature related to the electoral process and shedding light on it in particular inside the Iraqi society, the research has concluded that relying on elections and adhering to all its terms in a way that suits the situation of the Iraqi society, taking into account full representation of all the members the of society is to enhance political stability.
