Society for Peace Movement (Hamas) and its political role in Algeria
Abstract
The Society for Peace Movement is a political organization that aims to change and reform society according to a clear reference based on Islam and its main sources, as well as the Algerian national cultural heritage, according to the strategy of political action. It adopted political participation in accordance with the methodology of moderation and moderation in thought and political action, which would lead to political and social stability and respect for the principles of democracy, freedom of expression and intellectual pluralism according to the laws of the Algerian Republic. The movement is not opposed to the political authority, but it has reservations about some of the authoritys actions, and in many cases it endorses its course and its economic, social and security practices, and within the framework of reforming the political system from within, the Society for Peace Movement seemed, in terms of its texts and charters, to be a clear political party in its ideology compared to other competing parties. It has ambiguity in its political orientation in general. Its basis is religious, educational and political reformer, and its leaders are characterized by a high level of religious and political culture so that they formed a special model characterized by organization, discipline and coordination in collective work.
