Intuition or Mystic Consciousness in Stace's Philosophy
Abstract
This research comes as an attempt to address the nature of the relationship of the mystical experience with intuition or mystic consciousness in the philosophy of religion of Walter Stace, whether by showing their relevance to each other, or by stating the possibility of expressing them together, This balance is based on the distinction between the general religious experience and the Mystic intuition or self-awareness for the mystic, So that this intuition is clearly associated with aesthetic intuition, Moreover, Mystic consciousness in itself cannot be separated as a concept from the idea of religious experience with common characteristics (such as subjectivity, individualism, and spiritual). So here we are facing a controversy taking place in the interpretation of the mystical experience or (religious symbolism), The mystic - according to Stace - is in a state of confusion if he wants to use a language that implies (religious provocation) to explain his spiritual experience in light of the theory of "spiritual blindness".
