Abstract

The research aims to shed light on the thresholds in the Rome Statute and their role in determining the meaning of the text. The text, as the written part, no longer dominates the space of the book. Recent studies have paid attention to the thresholds accompanying the original text, to include all its appendices, starting from its front cover and ending with its back cover, and the significance that these matters can add to the text itself. Therefore, in this research, we will try to reveal the clarity of the connection between the thresholds and the texts of the articles of the Rome System. The importance of the thresholds has emerged as a discourse parallel to its original discourse (which is the text), driven - what is meant by the parallel discourse - in that is the act of interpretation, and activated by the act of reading, explaining and interpreting the form of its meaning.
