The study deals with the speech act "Question" in three of Shakespeare's tragic plays, Makbeth, Othello, and Hamlet. It aims to identify the expressive powers contained in interrogative expressions by developing a hypothesis that this can be achieved by developing a contextual tool to infer these forces.
