Abstract

The research entitled " Symbolization in Selected Samples of Bashar bin Burd's Poetry" is a study of the concept of symbol among the Arabs and the West in the classical and modern times. As well as showing the stages of development of the meaning of the symbol and multiple significations. It also this research includes the analytical field of selected poetic samples with symbolizing signifiers and dimensions. The methodical vision of this study is based on the pragmatic approach to the poetic texts utilizing stylistics, and semantics in the process of the analysis of the purpose of explicating the effectiveness of the action of symbols and their role in actuating meanings and symbolic significations of the poetic text. These symbolic meanings appear in various subjects like woman as a psychological, existential shelter for the poet, night as a signifier of loneliness, and persistent pain, ruin as a symbol of emptiness and lasting parting, stallion as a symbol of strength, journey, and company in travelling.
