Abstract

This study examined the nature of university professors' accreditation on social media as a source of information and the reasons for their reliance on it, their utilization as a source of information and what applications are most used by them and the study also aimed at identifying the nature of the information they derive from these sites, The study relied on the analytical survey descriptive curriculum for this type of study and the questionnaire was used as the main tool for collecting data from the study sample of professors of the College of Arts at the University of Mosul as a random sample for the study's community.The study came out with a series of results, most notably that the most used sites and applications by professors is the Facebook app, where it came first and telegram second and the study also showed that one of the most important characteristics that made them rely on these sites as a source of information is the ease of use in the first and interactive rank in the second, The study showed that what professors are looking for most in these sites are new global references and research in the field of specialization social media ", and the two researchers' recommendations highlighted the provision of integrated insights into the methods and strategies for optimal recruitment of social media sites in providing information through scientific seminars and conferences.
