Abstract
American Orientalism went through two phases: the first in the long historical period extending between American independence in 1783 and World War II, and it is called the stage of traditional American Orientalism, as it is dominated by a religious character without neglecting colonial and political ambitions. The second stage, known as the stage of contemporary Orientalism, began since The end of World War II until now, and it was characterized by focusing on the political aspects without abandoning other traditional Orientalist topics, and the research centers known as (Think Tanks) were the best who helped in these programs and provided them with a helping hand along with the institutes and special departments in American universities.
