Interrogative Letters in AL_Emam AL_Shaffiey (204 AH) Divan : Semantic Study
Abstract
The interrogative is one of the grammatical methods that include various rhetorical functions and various expressive values are found in it within the variety of contexts in which a question appears. It has its nominal and literal tools to perform those purposes. The present paper is confined to the two interrogative letters (the hamza and hal). For this reason , the paper is entitled Interrogative Letters in AL_Emam AL_Shaffiey Divan : A Semantic Study. The paper is divided into an introduction , two chapters and a conclusion. In the preface, we dealt with the meaning of the question in language and terminology, then we tackled the types of question and question letters (hamza and hal): they appeared thirteen times in the Divan with various meanings according to the contexts in which they are mentioned, and we made the first topic Hamza and its applications. In the second chapter, we dealt with (hal) and its applications, then the conclusion came containing the most prominent results of the research. We have depended on different books among the books of language, grammar and semantics, Al Shaffiey is known as a jurist, writer and poet. He possessed the reins of the language, and he was eloquent , solemn, of genius, creative in poetry, language and science. His poetry is described as easy, so you can hardly find strange words and expressions in it. Therefore, it was easy to infer f and to quote from his works, and a part of them took the course of the proverb. Most of his poems are in sapience , morals and advice. His language, with its syntax, expresses the best expression of the true poetic, delicate, pious soul, guiding man to the right path of goodness and righteousness.
