Abstract

This study focuses on the impact of using the song as an authentic document in FLE classes, the case of students of the French Department / University of Salahaddin / Iraq.The song is an authentic support to teach the foreign language to our learners, but also to make them understand the culture of the foreign language, it is also for the learner, a way of looking at the outside world outside the school context, and this is why we encourage the development of the current study. In this research, we treat the song as an authentic document, its exploitation in a class of FLE, and the beginning of the appearance of the song in class. On the other side, our research deals with the criteria for choosing the song for the class and the advice of specialists in this field. Finally, we explain the program of the French Department of Languages faculty, in the University of Salahaddin: the nature of the courses and their timetable, the exploit of the song in the curriculum of the French Department / Salahaddin University, and the analysis of the questionnaire intended for students of this department.
