Urban geography is concerned with the study of human urbanism, its development, growth, and patterns. Modern technologies have provided tremendous possibilities for collecting data on the changes that occurred in the urban area during different periods of time, especially since urbanization is one of the human geographical phenomena that those interested in studying it benefited greatly from remote sensing techniques and the data they provided about any region of the world. Among these areas is the study area that the research dealt with and studied the changes that occurred in its urban area after the war. It studied a year before the war, the year 2000 AD, and a year after it, the year 2020 AD, based on the study of the radioactive reflectivity of urban areas by tracking their spectral footprint through controlled classification, and their footprint which is different from the footprint of other forests, barren lands, agricultural lands and water spaces. Another year before the war was studied based on statistics issued by the Directorate of Technical Services in Idlib Governorate for the year 2010 AD on the urban area in the region. In this study, the research adopted the descriptive approach, the statistical approach, the analytical approach, and a set of methods, the most important of which is the cartographic method, to search for the changes that occurred in the urban area in the research area. A set of maps were produced that show the changes in the urban area in the research area, and the variation in the change between the parts of the study area was shown concerning the urban area of the study region, in addition to the area's most receiving the population fleeing from the war. The parts of the study area were classified according to the size of the urban area in each of the years covered by the research.
