Abstract

The research deals with textual thresholds in critical studies through presentation and rooting. Its content contained three demands, the first requirement included: the concept of textual thresholds linguistically and terminologically, the second requirement included: textual thresholds in Western critical studies, and the third requirement included: textual thresholds in Arab critical studies. It is noted that the Arab monetary arena has witnessed turmoil in this concept, resulting from differences in translation. There are many concepts between the term (paragraphs, parallel text, accompanying text, or thresholds...) due to the difference in the culture of the translator, in addition to the lack of a scientific body to unify scientific and critical terminology. If we return to the concept of the term, we find it manifested as a second component of the five components. Consisting of what the critic Gerard Genette called textual transcendences (Transtex tualite), which he mentioned in his book (Palimpsetes) in the world of 1982, which came within five () patterns: (intertextuality, intertextuality, intertextuality, subsequent text, and comprehensive text) These patterns are interconnected to form textual relationships known to Genette as the threshold (Seuit), and in his book (Thresholds) 1987, he was able to establish a starting point for the term Al-Manas, i.e. (parallel text) to the original text.
