Abstract

Architectural heritage is considered one of the most essential components that express authenticity of ay civilization. This heritage is a civilizational indicator of the extent to which a specific nation has reached, serving as an evidence of its development. Architecture represents a manifestation of social evolution in any society, reflecting its economic situation .. Architecture during Ottoman era varied greatly from that of Seljuk . Most buildings dating back to early Ottoman era regarding Ottoman architecture are associated with religious monuments. Among the most important buildings through which we can study styles and continuous development are mosques. Therefore, in this study, we examine characteristics of architecture in the Ottoman Empire at its inception (mosques as a model)Buildings dating back to this period were mainly located in cities of Iznik, Bursa, and Edirne. Majority of researches handled arts of architecture in early Ottoman state, significant attention was paid to mosque architecture or (zawiyas), especially in city of Bursa.In this research, we will study architectural buildings of mosques dating back to early Ottoman period in city of Bursa
