Abstract

The proliferation of legal violations in the pharmaceutical industry and drugstores, in spite of the existence of specialized laws and regulations and regulatory entities, poses the question about the reasons behind the prevalence of these violations. For example, the role played by the entities that are responsible for controlling and monitoring the drugstores is weak and inactive and needs to be reconsidered. This requires the identification of the sources of weakness from a legal perspective. This could be done via examining the effectiveness of the relevant legislations as well as the impact of contrast and contradiction found in the texts of legislation on the lack of control on pharmacies and stores dealing with drugs in Iraq and their entry points. These measures might help to arrive at legal solutions that contribute to the reduction of the existing problems in the pharmaceutical industry.
