A Comparison Study For Psychological Burnout among Some Teachers in the College of Sport Education in the University Of Mosul
Abstract
Modern psychological studies are directed towards psychological health of teachers in general and the teachers of college of sport education specially.
The phenomenon Psychological Burnout among workers in the teaching professional has received prominent attention especially in the last few years and a large number of studies showed that teachers are most subjected to psychological burnout because they are subjected pressures which negatively affects their performance and their attitudes towards their students and to their work in general and leading that some quit their jobs in purse of other professions.
Stemming stated above, the importance of this study emerged for the teachers of sport education colleges and comparing them while the study problem is confined to find the differences among sport education teachers in three departments (Sport Science Dept. team Games Dept. and gamy Sports Dept.) Whom are subjected to a number of pressures that affect their daily activity thus their profession and leading to psychological burnout.
The aim of the study:
The study aimed to expound the differences in psychological burnout among teachers in the college of sport education in the departments of (Sport Science Dept. Group Games Dept. and Single Sports Dept).
The theoretical context of the study considered psychological burnout, the theories explaining it, the reasons behind it and the most prominent symptoms accompanying it in addition to a review of a number of studies that dealt with this subject.
The method used in study was the descriptive method appropriate to the nature of the study. The study sample consisted of (21) male and female teacher deliberately selected from the population of the study from the three departments representing (83) male and female teachers. The psychological burnout scale was adopted for the study while the statistical tools used were (Arithmetic Mean, Standard Deviation, and Percentage, Variance Analysis and, L.S.D test).
The most important results were as following:
1-The level of psychological burnout is high in general among the teachers in the three departments.
2-Significant differences have been shown to exist between Sport science department and group games department in favor for the later.
3-No Significant differences exists between Sport Science Dept and Single Sports Dept from one side and Group Games Dept. and Single Sports Dept. from the other as it didnt reach significant levels.
4-The closeness in level of psychological burnout measured based on percentage.
The researcher recommended the following:
1- Establishing support for teachers in Sport education by providing the equipment and tools necessary for their work.
2- Providing immunity for all college and university teachers in addition to teachers in Sport education from persisting daily threats stemming from current security conditions.
3-Emphasize on methods of deterring students when crossing the lines with their teachers.
4-Emphasizing on providing equal opportunities for teachers to decrease the psychological burnout among them stemming from feelings of aggrievance
5- Emphasizing on strengthening social relations among teacher and higher entities in administration and to be open to their problems and attempt to solve them as much as possible.
