Abstract

King Faisal I is considered one of the most prominent political figures known to contemporary Arab history and one of the prominent leaders of his time due to his high political capabilities, wisdom and experience that qualified him to manage and build the modern Iraqi state. Hussein, with the independence of the Arab countries, if the Arabs participated on the side of the allies in the First World War, I decided to assign the throne of Iraq to Faisal on the thirteenth of August 1921, And he pursued a policy whose goal was for the country to gain independence despite the problems and difficulties it was facing, both at the internal and external levels, at a time when the borders of Iraq had not yet been stabilized. Rather, Turkey was still claiming the Wilayat of Mosul, and Iran was taking a hostile stance and insisting on not recognizing the state. The new, and there were problems in Najd, Hejaz and Ibn Saud, rivals to his father over the authority of the Arabian Peninsula, in addition to all that the British control of Iraq, which made him cautious in dealing with them, and for this he fought a bitter struggle against them in 1922 to the point of inciting him to revolution and threatening him to isolate him and expel him from Iraq If you don't sign that treaty with the British, Thus, after a series of treaties and defying many of its provisions, he was able to obtain the independence of Iraq in 1932, and to become a member of the League of Nations through his continuous efforts, which lasted for many years before he died on the eighth of September 1933.
