Abstract

Our current research deals with the subject of studying textbooks of the French language as a foreign language in Iraqi secondary educational institutions through the three textbooks approved by the Ministry of Education from 1970 to 2020, which are the following:
"La France En Direct", "Le Nouveau Sans Frontires" et "Gnration A1"
Based on that, our research will shed light on the study and analysis of the aforementioned curricula, and will define their educational objectives and treat within the same context their advantages and disadvantages, and will address the structural structure of these curricula in terms of vocabulary, grammar and important aspects of culture and French civilization, and will complete a comprehensive panorama covering the details related to language teaching French in Iraqi middle schools and high schools during a specified period through official documents accompanying this research and issued by the Ministry of Education / General Directorate of Curricula and the General Directorate of Cultural Relations.
