Efforts of Orientalist Arthur Arberry in translating the Qur’an
Abstract
This paper reviews the approach followed by the British Orientalist Arthur Arberry. And through which it became clear the new shift in the translation of the Holy Quran into English. Arberry's translation was distinguished from other translations: it was not a traditional translation, but rather a literary translation that achieved accuracy in transmission, and took into account the English taste in understanding the meanings of the Holy Quran. This is in addition to taking care of phonological beauty and trying to convey its effects to the reader.
