Abstract

The determinative signs is an important subject which expresses some bases of writing the two languages; the Sumerian and the Akkadian and their dialects. Their subject sheds light on the use of determinative signs in the past; when the old Iraqi people used to write them in their cuneiform writings; and in the present as the new researchers use Latin letters to present the determinative signs.
Their research shows the sources of these signs, their function and use. It counts the most publical signs which are (37) determinative signs: (25) signs come before the words, (4) signs come after words and (8) sings for the plural and dual, numbers and ordinal numbers
