Dagestani / Chechen revolution 1834 - 1859
Abstract
North Caucasia witnessesd many revolutions against the Russian occupation. One to the most famous revolution was led by Al-Imam Muhammad Shamil Which lasted more than 25 years (1834-1859), and extended on vast area, giving a model of Islam (Religious) Revolution. This revolution faced setbacks, so it removed to Chichnia for a time, then back to Daghstan many obstacles obliged the revolts to put arms off and leader to surrender. Russia thence had free hand to containue its invasion this Islamic area.
