The phenomenon of poverty is one of the biggest challenges facing the world, especially developing countries, which has made poverty one of the important issues that countries, humanitarian and international organizations and academic studies seek to eliminate and reduce its economic, social and psychological effects on the individual, as poverty expands due to many factors. It is an obstacle to achieving all kinds of development, and the manifestations of poverty in our society are manifested through the deterioration of the standard of living, poor health and educational services, and an increase in unemployment and crime. Economic security. The research included an introduction and six topics. In the first topic, we dealt with the general framework of the research. The second topic included the types of poverty and its indicators. In the third topic, we explained the social concept of poverty. In the fourth topic, we explained the causes of poverty. The fifth topic included programs to address poverty, and finally the sixth topic, which included the reality of poverty in Iraq. And ways to address it and then recommendations.
