The research dealt with a controversial issue in the issues of orthography between the Basri and the Kufic that spelling is of great importance and a high position among the branches of the Arabic language, and interest in its problems is due in the past in the first works of scholars, including: Ibn Qutayba (276) and his book: (The Writers Literature), and Abu Jaafar al-Nahhas (338). And his book: (Umdat al-Kitab). Recently, since the beginning of the last century, the issue of orthography has received the attention of linguistic academies, educational institutions, and Arabic specialists, and it is still continuing (books, research, articles, and proposals) to be helpful and guiding, so that the learner can master his spelling, and avoid mistakes that occur during writing; But we have not reached the desired results until our time, and the research aims to limit and gather the dispute in the issues of drawing the thousand between the Basrians and the Kufics, and to highlight the reasons and reasons related to them, and to clarify them in order to reveal them, and to clarify some of the confusion that occurred as a result of the influence of contemporary scholars on it, and how they dealt with it. In drawing the rules of orthography when writing their books, and thus its impact on writers and learners who looked at these books, and through that, we may find a way to reach the facilitation in Arabic spelling and writing that we aspire to today.
