Abstract

Language is the main tool or means of communication between different peoples, each of which has its own mother tongue. When an individual lives in a foreign society, his language will be mixed with the language of that society. This is called linguistic interference as a linguistic phenomenon, meaning that an individual can speak more than one language, which is a process of acquisition. It is already known that the problems resulting from linguistic interference are inevitable. Every society has its own linguistic particularities, occidental linguists have explained that linguistic interference of the mother tongue of the speaker or learner has an impact on the target foreign language, this is done by replacing an element (a word or a structure) of the elements of the mother language with an element of the target language. In addition, there must be a treatment for every problem that results during the process of acquisition of a new language. This research reviews the basic and effective roles that must be taken into account as they help in the process of teaching and learning French as a foreign language.
