Effectiveness of Place in Ibn Onain's Texts
Abstract
Place plays a vital role in structuring and building a poetic text. As a part of the setting, it is the standpoint from which incidents commence and characters move, to charge the text with condensed denotations making it viable and to add integration and comprehensiveness allowing it to take an artistic form that impresses readers. Then, it is a constituting element that make the text coherent and harmonious and its varied denotations bear self features, creative characteristics. Also, it relates to the feelings of man as it is the background against which social problems and experiences are shown, that is why many feelings and emotions are associated with it. As far as Ibn Onain is concerned, his wide knowledge enabled him to delineate the actual places imaginarily, first of all inside himself, and second inside his readers stimulating them to feel it. For him, each place is associated with a certain incident and an action that his intellectual vision and memory can identify.
