Securing information technologies in libraries and information centers
Abstract
Information technologies are among the most important equipment acquired by libraries and information centers of all kinds. Most of these libraries and information centers become unable to perform their role if the information technologies they own stop working for any period of time. These technologies are not only important as physical equipment, but are more important to the qualitative aspects of how the physical system represents the library or information center. Libraries and information centers that rely on these technologies or that adopt computerized systems in all their operations may become unable to perform their easiest obligations towards their beneficiaries if I lost these techniques.
