Abstract

This study focuses on the song as a preferred activity by teachers of French as a foreign language, French Department / University of Salahaddin as a model. From now on, the value of the activities used in class does not only depend on the training and personality of the teacher, but also on the various materials and aids available to him. Today, the song is considered one of the activities most interested by students, and teachers prefer it for their French as a foreign language course. In this study, we first deal with the definition of song, the forms in which a song is transmitted.Then, we treat the classification of Tim Murphy concerning the types of the song. Then, this study deals with the use of the song as a pedagogical support in the teaching/learning of French as a foreign language and the choice of the song for the class according to Pierre Dumont, Franoise Demougin and Swann Paradis, Galle Vercollier. Finally, we explain the results of the questionnaire intended for teachers of the Department of French/University of Salahaddin.
