Spatial relationships between traffic congestion and traffic accidents in the holy city of Najaf for the period 2016-2022

The research aims to reveal the traffic problems that the city of Najaf suffers from. the transportation crises. and how they affect the life of the citizen. Statistical methods were used on all data on run-overs. collisions. and overturns. Solutions must be found that are compatible with these problems and reduce congestion and traffic congestion. as well as identifying the cause. The increase in the number of cars after 2003 is the lack of control over imports and the absence of customs control. as well as the lack of garages and parking lots. which is one of the reasons for the crowding that the city suffers from and the loss of lives caused by run-over. collision. and overturn accidents within the citys streets. The field study showed that the streets are not compatible with the continuous increase and large amount of cars. which amounted to 100889 vehicles of various types. in addition to motorcycles. which amounted to 9945 bicycles. An increase in the number of traffic accidents of all types. whether (rollover - run over - collision). which resulted in large numbers of deaths and injuries. in addition to material losses. and this counts the lives of residents and public property. The number of accidents from the year 2016 to the year 2022 totals 5063 accidents. including run over. Collisions and rollovers resulted in 997 deaths and 4502 injuries. both males and females. The accidents constituted an indicator of the increase in the year 2022 over the rest of the previous years.
