Abstract

The ancient city of Ur is one of the most important archaeological sites in the world because of the cultural evidence it contains that reflects the history of Mesopotamia and the extent of urban development that the third dynasty of Ur reached with its capital. the ancient city of Ur. And the accuracy of urban engineering is that The design capacity of the drainage sewers after the rainstorm amounted to an estimated amount of rain discharged at about (12.600) cubic meters of water within (24 hours) through the drainage pipes in the city of Ur. and this amount of discharge reflects the ability of the pipes to drain rainwater in the study are Also. this technique in draining rainwater. which was used before more than (3500 BC) It coincides with the concept of sponge cities that developed countries aspire to. and through recent studies. using them to reduce global warming and high temperatures within the major cities in the world.
