The dialectic of disagreement over (sentence and speech) between ancient grammarians and modern linguists
Abstract
This study was presented on a topic that was widely used among the ancient Nuclearists and modern linguists. That subject is (the sentence), and they devoted research, study and analysis to it. To cover its essence, conceal its secrets, and the differences between it and speech.The importance of the study lies in the fact that (sentence and speech) are the means of communication and communication between people, and the issue of (sentence and speech) captured the minds of the ancients and moderns, as it occupied their understandings and influenced them. Their ideas, so they researched, studied and analyzed them. The objectives of the study appear in explaining the relationship between sentence and speech and explaining the generality and specificity between the two terms.Explaining the reasons for dividing the sentence according to some scholars into nominal, actual, conditional, and circumstantial. The study revealed in the end that the sentence is divided into two parts (nominal and verb), and that those who say that there are two sentences: the conditional and the adverbial, are in their origin a reality and a deep structure, nominal and verb. At the end of the journey, the study recommends the necessity of conducting additional research and studies, to achieve benefit and increase knowledge and deep understanding of both sentences and speech.
