Positive social behavior and its relationship to the quality of friendship among middle school students
Abstract
The research aimed to identify the level of positive social behavior and the quality of friendship and the relationship between them among middle school students affiliated with the Representative Office of Erbil. And the detection of differences according to the variable (sex - stage). The basic research sample was (240) male and female students. with (138) males and (102) females. The two scales were prepared by the researchers and the validity and reliability were extracted. and they were (0.83) and (0.82). respectively. The data was statistically processed using the statistical package (SPSS). and the researchers reached a set of results that the level of positive social behavior among middle school students is within the average level. as well as the quality of friendship. It was found that there is a statistically significant relationship between positive social behavior and the quality of friendship among middle school students. There is a statistically significant difference in the positive social behavior variable according to the gender variable and in favor of male students. and there is no significant statistical difference for the branch (scientific-literary). and the absence of a statistically significant difference in the quality of friendship according to the variables of gender and branch for middle school students. The researchers developed a set of recommendations and suggestions in light of the conclusions reached by the research.
