Abstract
March of this year witnessed the melting of snow from the sources of the Tigris River in the mountains of Turkey with an increase in precipitation rates. In addition to explaining the tragedy that befell the Iraqis that year and the loss of lives and property they experienced, and the confusion that occurred in the political situation of the country, through the change of three ministries after the resignation of the government of Muhammad Fadel Al-Jamali, who was accused of negligence in preventing the flood and preventing a disaster from occurring. And the government measures to rescue the affected people and provide them with assistance and compensation, and the efforts of workers in the General Irrigation Directorate and the police, and the solidarity of the Iraqi people from all classes, responding to the nations call to cooperate among themselves to build earthen dams, and the intervention of the Iraqi army forces to provide assistance after the increase in water danger to prevent the capital, Baghdad, from sinking, especially on the night of March 29.After this disaster, many foreign and Arab countries, near and far, stood with the Iraqi people, whether by offering condolences and solidarity with the Iraqi people or providing financial, medical and food support to the afflicted.
