Abstract

This study conducted to induce the effect of DL-m~thionine asantioxidant on histochemistry as well as ability to induechistopathological changes in liver tissue of rabbit experimentally . In thisstudy have used nine rabbit at weight rangine between 1100-1300 gmlocal breed ( 3 in each group) , divded into 3 groups 1st group consideredas control 2nd group treated with 0.4 % DL-methionine while 3rd grouptreated with 0.8% DL-methionine .Histological sections revealed histopathological lesions in liverat 0.8 % represented by vacuolar degeneration coagulative necrosis ,portal fibrosis , hypertrophy in kupfer cells associated with hemosiderinepigmentation and invitation mononuclar inflammatony cells . In bile ductepithial hyperplasia , peri ductule cuffing of inflammatory cells have beenseen.Histochemically , results showed sever positive reaction with PASand BC , moderatia positive reaction with AB at pH 2.5 and BC. Whenestimation Glutathion (GSH) in liver tissue the results showed significantdecrease in GSH concentration in liver tissue at 0.8% of methionine ascompared with control group.
