Abstract

This work deals with preparation and characterization of some newcomplexes of dioxouranium (VI) by using some aromatic compounds asligands. The compounds used in this study were Thymol, Eugenol,Methylsalicylate and Gaiacol. Characterizations of these complexes arediscussed, using information obtained fiom investigation of their physicalproperties. Conductivity measurements in non-aqueous solutions showedthat all complexes were neutral (uncharged species or non-ionic). Theinfrared spectra indicated that the nitrate groups are coordinated as abidentate in uranium nitrate complexes. The results also showed that(eugenol, methysalicylate and gaiacol) coordinated as bidentate ligands.
