Abstract

The current research aims at revealing the skills of effective teaching of Arabic language teacher in special education classes and its relation with some variables (sex and academic standard). The sample consisted of (76) teachers , (16) male and (60) female teachers for special education in primary schools involved in special education program in the State Directorate of Education in Nineveh for the academic year 2005-2006.To achieve the aims of the research, the researcher made questionnaire of (54) items divided into five aspects of effective teaching. Validity and reliability of the tool were verified. When analyzing the data using potential means and chi square. The results showed teachers of Arabic language in special Education using skills of preparing schedule connected well. The results all so showed lack of using teaching aids specialized for each group. The results showed no statistically significant differences in the responses of the sample in using effective teaching skills according to sex variable. The results also showed statistically signified differences in the responsible of the sample in academic standard variable with a bias toward college-educated teachers. On the basis of the research results the researcher Recommended providing the suitable visual aids for slow learners. The researcher has also suggested conducting a further study to investigate the skills of effective teaching for special education teachers in other subjects.
