Nature of Social Relation Among Convicted Field Study in Al-Mahata Prison - Erbil

: . : .The research aims at discovering the type of social life inside the prison regarding the available social relation among prisoners. The research showed that these relations either be positive or negative. Positive relation is the result of the nature of life in prison, such life, however, was not stable to create high degree of coordinance and harmony between prisoners. The factors that help in supporting social relation: Mutual bed and accommodation, sharing food and sharing manual work. The negative relations represented in the following factors: The negative relations represented in the following factors: the history of rehabitational institution in its humanitarian mission including: lack of trust among convicts, their continuing doubts (i.e there is no real friendship inside the social of prison, which if ever found, based on mutual benefit), drinking drugs and rubbery which all undermine the moral spirite among prisoners create problems, fights and worry among them.
