Abstract

Perceived organizational support is a recent topic that has attracted the attention of many researchers. Recognizing the importance of the reciprocal relationship between the organization and its employees will make these organizations more capable of achieving competitive advantages and make employees more committed to their organizations. Employees receiving more benefits related to salary, promotions, and career development indicates the organization's positive evaluation of their contributions, thus contributing to perceived organizational support. Organizational support, in turn, increases employees' expectations that high performance will be rewarded. Perceived organizational support also indicates the degree to which the organization they belong helps them focus on their interests and motivations, which makes them give their utmost in return for reciprocal treatment by their organizations. This effort is reflected positively through the organization's support in the form of material and moral incentives that satisfy their motivations (Al-Shalan, 2014: 153). Thus, employees' concept of organizational support is reflected in them through certain beliefs about the level to which the organization appreciates their efforts and cares about their well-being, which creates feelings of commitment and belonging that make them satisfied with their affiliation with the organization.
