Abstract

The study aimed to:
- The effectiveness of the gradual activities strategy in acquiring achievement for the experimental group in the javelin throwing event.
- The difference between the experimental and control research groups in the post-tests of achievement for the javelin throwing event.
The researchers hypothesized the following:
- The existence of a significant difference between the results of the experimental and control research groups in the pre- and post-test of achievement for the javelin throwing event in favor of the post-test.
- The existence of significant differences between the results of the experimental and control research groups in the post-test of achievement for the javelin throwing event.
The research community was deliberately determined as students of the third academic stage in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences - College of Basic Education / University of Mosul for the academic year (2023-2024), and the total number of students in this stage is (62) male and female students distributed over three classrooms, as the number of students in the first classroom was (22) students, the second (20) students, and the third (20) students. The researcher used the statistical package (25 -SPSS) to reach the results of the research, and the researchers reached a number of conclusions and recommendations, the most important of which were:
Conclusions:
- The experimental and control research groups excelled in the post-tests of the skill achievement of the javelin throwing activity.
- The experimental group outperformed the control group in the post-tests in achievement of the javelin throwing activity. Recommendations:
-The necessity of adopting the strategy of gradual activities and applying it in the teaching process of the javelin throwing activity, in order to demonstrate its effectiveness in gaining achievement for this activity.
- Emphasizing the use of the gradual activities strategy, while teaching different sports skills, because of its great impact in improving the level of achievement.
