The safe management of hazardous waste under Basel convention 1989
Abstract
The research is conducted to illustrate the effect of environmental management of hazardous wastes, according to the international principles, that include preventing damages, sustainable development, and the responsibility on the environmental management safety, the right to gain information and participation in environmental decisions, in addition to raise the awareness of the influence of the biohazards and its effect on public health.
The research also discussed the rules included in the Basel Convention 1989, the main commandment with national and international content, aimed to ensure the existence of safe environmental management that can ensure the application of environmental standards, to reduce, recycle and eliminate of Biohazards materials. For this an international collaboration is required to establish and maintain successful environmental management. Especiallythe transportation of the hazardous materials through theborders of the import and exports countries.
