The Attitude of the Islamic Movement in Iraq Towards the Kurdish Cause 1949-2003 A Historical Study
Abstract
The Kurdish Cause is regarded as one of the most important issues in the modern and contemporary history of Iraq. Most of the Iraq governments failed to solve it It has gained a lot of attention from the Iraqi Islamic movement which represented a group of the Islamic organizations. Their attitude towards this cause was different according to their religious and national orientations some of these attitudes were ambiguous. However, it might be said here that some of these Islamic organizations attempted to adopt certain solution which were seen as suitable solutions. Among these solutions is federation which came to the surface after the events of 1991. Generally it is possible to say that the Iraqi Islamic movement did not neglect this cause, because it aimed at maintaining the social texture strong among the different sects of the Iraqi people of which the are considered an indivisible part.
