Decision-making among first-class referees of some collective games
Abstract
Research Objective:To identify the decision-making level among first-class referees for some collective sports teams in Iraq. The two researchers used the descriptive method due to its suitability and the nature of the research. The research population consisted of first-class referees in Iraq for some team sports (football, futsal, and basketball) working in the 2021-2022 sports season. They were selected using both survey and correlational methods to suit the nature of the research. The research sample consisted of 204 referees across the three activities, distributed as follows: 108 football referees, 48 futsal referees, and 48 basketball referees. The two researchers used the decision-making scale prepared by (Qasemi and Jaghaba, 2021) and modified by the two researchers. The two researchers then applied the scale to a sample of 60 referees. They used the statistical package (SPSS) to obtain the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, T-test for two independent samples, and Pearson correlation coefficient. The two researchers concluded the following:First-class referees for some team sports in Iraq possess a high level of decision-making.
