Abstract

The study aimed to identify:The values of several variables of the force-time function for discus throwers in the research sample at the throwing stage. The values of the mechanical principles of projectile launch determine performance at the throwing stage in discus throw. The relationship between several variables of the force-time function and the performance-determining principles in the discus throw event for the study sample at the throwing stage. The researchers hypothesized a significant relationship exists between several variables of the force-time function and the performance-determining principles in the discus throw for the study sample at the throwing stage. The researchers used the descriptive method with a correlational approach, employing measurement, questionnaires, and scientific observation using two video cameras at 120 frames per second. The extracted data were statistically processed using the SPSS program to obtain the mean, standard deviation, and Pearsons simple correlation coefficient. The researchers concluded the following key findings:Significant correlations were achieved between the biomechanical variables, with 4 out of 18 variables showing a 22.2% correlation at the end of the throwing position. The kinetic variables, represented by the maximum recorded pushing force, played an active role in determining the values of the performance determinants, namely the launch angle, speed, and height. No significant correlation was found between the kinetic variables under study and the launch angle. The researchers recommended the following:Emphasizing the importance of motion analysis using modern programs, techniques, and advanced devices during different training stages by coaches.Developing the training aspect for the research sample by focusing on the kinetic variables under study due to their influential role in launch height and speed.
