Study of some mechanical properties of the prepared polymeric composites unsaturated polyester with green clay
Abstract
Polymeric composites of unsaturated polyester resin were prepared as a base material, in addition to the mechanism of green clay as a supporting and strengthening material, (8,25,55 °C), Some mechanical and thermal tests were conducted. Through the results, it was found that the values of shock, hardness and tensile strength increased after reinforcement at a temperature of (8.55) °C, while the increase was higher at a temperature of 25 °C, where the increase was significantly and well noticeable when compared to temperatures (8.55). °M. The compressive strength decreased with increasing temperature, but the thermal conductivity decreased after the consolidation process and for all the prepared samples. Therefore, these polymeric composites are considered good thermal insulators.
