Abstract

AbstractThe research aims to identify the effect of Adelson's model in developing generative thinking among second-year intermediate school students in the Arabic language subjectTo achieve the goal of the research, the researcher developed a null hypothesis, which is as follows:There is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the average grades of the female students of the experimental group who are taught according to the Adelson model and the average grades of the female students of the control group who are taught according to the usual method of developing generative thinking. There is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of the female students of the experimental group taught according to the Adelson model in the pre- and post-applications in developing generative thinking. To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher developed a main hypothesis and the research sample was intentionally selected from the female students of the second intermediate grade in (Aqila Bani Hashem Middle School) in the center of Nineveh Governorate for the academic year (2021 - 2022). The sample consisted of (48) female students distributed into two experimental and control groups. There were (25) students for the experimental group that studied according to the Adelson model, and (23) for the control group that studied in the usual way.The researcher used the experimental method with equal groups and conducted the equivalence process on the two research groups in a number of variables that included: (chronological age, the grade of the Arabic language curriculum for the previous academic year, the general average of the female students, the intelligence quotient, and the academic achievement of the parents). To achieve the research goal, a tool was required: Testing generative thinking as a research tool. The test was characterized by validity and reliability. After preparing the teaching plans and the tool, the experiment was implemented by the curriculum teacher in the school in the first course of the academic year (2021-2022) on Monday, corresponding to (11/15/2021), and continued for a full academic course and ended on Monday, corresponding to (1/10/2022). Generative thinking test on Tuesday (11/1/2022) for both research groups. After collecting data and analyzing it statistically using statistical methods using the SPSS statistical program, the study reached the following results:1- There is a statistically significant difference between the students of the two groups in developing generative thinking, in favor of the experimental group with the higher arithmetic mean, which was studied according to the Adelson model.2- There is a statistically significant difference between the averages for the growth of generative thinking for the difference between the pre- and post-applications among the female students of the experimental group. In light of the research results, the research came out with several conclusions, including: The use of the Adelson model in the process of teaching the Arabic language subject contributed to the development of generative thinking in a positive and noticeable way.
