Abstract

A field study aimed to know the role of strategic management in achieving sustainable development goals in the colleges of the University of Baghdad. The research adopted the descriptive analytical method. The research community consisted of (224) assistant deans and department heads in the colleges of the University of Baghdad. The research sample was chosen by simple random method by (56%) of the research population, as the number of sample members was (125). A questionnaire was constructed that included (40) items distributed among the fields (future vision, laws and regulations, organizational structure, and implementation). The researcher confirmed its validity and reliability. The results of the research data were analyzed using the SPSS program, and the most important results were reached:1-The overall average score for the four areas was very good in the role of strategic management in achieving sustainable development goals.2-Postgraduate studies lack a clear strategy, vision and future approach.3- The strategy should move away from structures that monopolize powers in the hands of the center only.4-There are no statistically significant differences at the level (0.05 =&) between the averages of the research samples answers with regard to strategic management in achieving sustainable development due to the variables: (gender, experience, and specialization).In addition to arriving at a number of recommendations and proposals related to the
