Abstract
The research deals with a partial study of one of the details of the phenomenon of acronym. It focuses only on acronym in the field of terminology or acronym terms, explaining the positions of terminologists on this phenomenon, and accordingly, it divides their positions into two main prominent positions: the position of the terminologists who agree with acronym, and the position of the opposing terminologists who deny it, and then refutes each position separately, He links it to its authors, pointing to their arguments and proofs that they presented in support of what they argued. Then the research compares these positions in order to draw similarities and differences between them, and is not without criticism of them. It addresses the balance between terminological structure and acronym terms, and differentiates between them according to linguistic criteria, and the research concludes.
