Abstract

The call is an important rhetorical style in the poetry of Abbas Ibn Al-Ahnaf, and the poet used it skillfully, reflecting its aesthetic values to express the various feelings and emotions that stir in his soul, in addition to adding a special effect to his poetry that works to convey those feelings and emotions to the recipient. The call also constituted a striking phenomenon, which prompted me to work on it, and if this indicates anything, it indicates the eloquence of this style in the poetry of Abbas Ibn Al-Ahnaf. The call is a rhetorical style whose function is to attract the reader's attention or attract him, and it is one of the most common styles in Arabic poetry. Abbas Ibn Al-Ahnaf, one of the most prominent poets of love in the Abbasid era, used it frequently in his poetry; This is due to what love requires in terms of revealing feelings and emotions, complaining of abandonment, and longing, and the effect that the call has on the recipient.
