The Impact of Some Educational Technologies in Acquiring Reading and Spelling Skills for First Preparatory slow learners
Abstract
The present study investigates the effectiveness of some educational technologies in acquiring reading and spelling skills for first year preparatory slow learners. The population includes the whole first year pupils in the classes of specific education in the city of Mosul. A sample of 16 slow learners distributed among two groups, experimental group studied by using some educational technologies and control group studied according to traditional method. The two groups were equivalent in the related variables. Achievement test has been prepared by the researchers to test the reading and spelling skills. validity and reliability of the test has been fulfilled. Some statistical means have been utilized such as Chi- square and Alpha Coefficient and Mann-Whitney U. The findings revealed significant statistical difference, at 0.05 level of significance, between the two groups in the reading and spelling skills and for the benefit of the experimental group. The study concluded to a fact that improving the effectiveness of slow learners can be fulfilled through using some educational technologies, The researchers recommend using multi educational technologies in teaching slow learners. The researchers also suggest conducting more student and using different educational technologies such as computer as it has many learning aspects provided for pupils slow learners.
