Beliefs Related to popular Medicine in Mosuli folklore -A Descriptive Analytical Study –
Abstract
Folk medicine relies on medicinal herbs, natural materials, and traditional methods that have proven effective in treating many diseases. Folk medicine has been known since ancient times and was known in the oldest human civilizations, and has remained present until now despite the development of modern medicine and the development of its devices and tools Our current study deals with folk medicine by study and analysis, through the use of the descriptive approach, which has proven its capabilities in this study, and a number of results were reached, the most prominent of which are:1- Folk medicine is based on a number of basic foundations; Which are the main axes of this phenomenon: (diseases and conditions, healers and patients, literature and what it contains of prescriptions: drugs, religious, magic. Drugs and materials 2-Folk medicine is divided into two types of treatment: spiritual therapy and physical therapy 3-Spiritual medicine depends on a clear philosophy, which is faith and belief. The belief of the party who practices spiritual medicine that he is able, God willing, to heal or relieve the pain of patients, and peoples belief to the extent of certainty that spells, incantations, determination and the dignity of parents cure them of diseases and ward off affliction 4-Physical therapy, in turn, is divided into: (pharmacological treatment, surgical treatment.
