The phenomenon of political assassination in Egypt "The assassination of Youssef Al-Sibai 1978 as an example"
Abstract
The horrific incident in which the Egyptian Minister of Culture, Youssef Al-Sibai, fell victim in the Cypriot capital, Nicosia, while attending the Sixth Afro-Asian Solidarity Conference on February 18, 1978, was nothing but a horrific chapter in the book of violence, whose pages included many Egyptian ministers who were victims of a series of assassinations and assassination attempts. Inside or outside Egypt, the research aims to shed light on the incident of the assassination of Youssef Al-Sibai, its causes and the planned organization, and the tragic military actions that accompanied that incident that cast their shadow on the political situation between the states of Egypt and Cyprus, not to mention the diplomatic disputes that this incident caused between the two countries.
